Speaker Bios

Simran Kaur

Founder, Power Women Of India

Simran brings have over 15 years of combined experience in Product Development, Innovation and Marketing including with Siemens AG in Germany, European Microsoft Innovation Centre and Philips Healthcare. With her software engineering background from RWTH, Aachen, she has spent half her career building and leading product development, primarily in the Health-tech space. She also brings strong experience in building brands and marketing strategies. She has worked across corporates and startups in Germany, Singapore and the UAE and taught as guest faculty across multiple universities. She is an  entrepreneur and mentor startups at Dubai Founder's Institute and an Ambassador for Girls X Tech. Simran has an MBA from INSEAD and have been on the executive board of Alumni Association in UAE, and was the President until 2018. In 2016 she was featured in the book, BalanceForBetter supported by the UN. Simran is fluent in English, German, Hindi, Punjabi, and Bengali and speaks basic Italian.

Dr Vinika Rao is the Executive Director of the INSEAD Gender Initiative & Emerging Markets Institute, and Director of the Hoffman Global Institute for Business & Society, Asia. She started her career with an MNC bank and went on to become the Managing Director of an Indonesian conglomerate, before a serendipitous transition to education. Prior to INSEAD, she was Associate Professor of Strategy at the S.P. Jain Centre of Management, Singapore. Her research is in gender diversity in corporate leadership, specifically, the impact of male support on the self-regulating focus of female managers; as well as millennials & multigenerational influences in the workplace. She is frequently invited to speak on related topics and is quoted / published in leading business publications. She has an MBA from IIM Bangalore and a doctorate from the Singapore Management University. She currently sits on the boards of a non-profit organization and a think tank.

She’s worked in different geographies and sees the value of a diverse workforce. She is also actively involved with movements & organisations working to increase representation of women in politics as she strongly believes representation will help the country become a better democracy.

  • Debasmita Dasgupta, Artist, Founder Arts Positive, Singapore

Debasmita is an internationally-published “Kirkus-best prize- nominated” author-illustrator & screenwriter. She has illustrated over 20 illustrated books in both fiction plus non-fiction genres and works with publishers including Scholastic, HarperCollins and Penguin Random House. As an art-for-change advocate, she partners with global non-profits including PositiveNegatives (UK), UNICEF (India) & Storycentre (USA) sharing stories of change-makers from across the globe. Her art has been exhibited in Asia and Europe and featured by more than 40 international media outlets. She is the founder of the non-profit ArtsPositive and the co-founder of FilmsPositive.

  • Dr. Latika Nath, Conservation Ecologist & Photographer, India

Latika is a conservation ecologist with a doctorate on Tiger Conservation from the University of Oxford. The first Indian Woman with a doctorate on tigers she was given the title of “The Tiger Princess of India” by National Geographic. She has been working on big cat conservation for over 27 years now, focusing on the species of the Indian Sub-continent. She established the Singinawa Jungle Lodge and Foundation and lived and worked in Central India for over two decades. A keen photographer, she has published several books and has held exhibitions of her work internationally. She has recently founded a new company called ‘Hidden India’ that focuses on conservation and tourism.

  • Dr. Ruchi Saxena, Director Caerobotics & India Flying Labs, India

Dr Ruchi Saxena is the Founder and Director of Caerobotics, a social impact consultancy firm which builds ecosystems that bring futuristic technologies such as unmanned aerial vehicles closer to the communities that need them the most through collaborations and social innovations. Dr Ruchi is a doctor by primary education and works on high-impact healthcare and disaster risk reduction projects that deliver value to millions of people. She is also leading India Flying Labs, dedicated to the use of drones, drone-based data, robotics and other remote sensing technologies for healthcare, disasters, development, agriculture, conservation, STEM education and youth empowerment.

  • Dr. Vanita Yadav, Lecturer Entrepreneurship, CQUniversity, Australia

Dr. Vanita Yadav is an experienced academic with more than 10 years of work experience in research and academia including A-level research publications, research grants, research awards, editorial board memberships and academic leadership roles like the Chairperson of the Center for Social Entrepreneurship and Chairperson Strategy and Policy area at IRMA India. In 2012-13, she was awarded the highly competitive Fulbright Fellowship to purse postdoctoral research in the area of entrepreneurship and innovation at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.

  • Dr. Anjali Kulkarni, Oncologist, Director DayToDayHealth, India

Trained Cancer specialist from Tata cancer , Mumbai. Worked across as clinical expert. Been associated with top Medtech companies to make relevant and applicable products for patients and hospitals. Currently helping for technology adoption esp AI based to improve efficiency of care and improve patient outcomes. Passionate about cancer awareness , facilitating optimum healthcare to all and Green Earth.

  • Hemalatha Gupta, AVP Siemens Technologies & Services, India

I head the Audiology business at the Siemens IoT Development Services in India leading a team of 150+ young minds. Having worked at Siemens for over 22 years, my past experiences have enabled me to develop my skills in business development, project management, people development, handling business resources including working cross borders and leading global projects. Besides this, furthering women in their spheres of influence is important to me. To this end I work with women inside and outside the organization by mentoring and guiding them to become future women leaders.

Neeti is an accomplished Business leader and strategist with a proven track record of driving business performance across diverse sectors. Transplanting her intrapreneur experience with Corporates, she is currently mentoring start-ups across sectors, HR hiring platforms to shape & build their ideas, into scalable businesses. She is  a Venture Partner, LP and Advisor with Loyal VC, Canada & as Global Expert with Blockchain Founders' Fund, Singapore. She is also currently the National Expert for South Korean Chapter & Grand Jury member for the UN supported World Summit Awards, Vienna.

  • Urvashi Devidayal, Sankalp India Lead, India

Over the last 18 years I have lived and worked in Mumbai, New York, London and Auroville. My work has been varied and I have worked in multi-billion dollar companies, international NGOs and start-ups across sectors. I started my career in the financial sector and have gone on to work on climate change, human rights, and more specifically, women’s rights. Big ideas, shifting blocks in mind-sets, changing behaviours, and bringing a positive change in society – these are some of the drivers of my career. The inspiring force behind my career is the network of phenomenal people I have developed through my professional work, business school at INSEAD, and most importantly, my volunteer work.

  • Yosha Gupta, CEO and Founder, MeMeraki, HongKong

She is the founder of Memeraki, a social enterprise driving financial inclusion for artisans by empowering them with technology and creating new economic opportunities for them. Their work has have been covered across media outlets like Forbes, SCMP, Tatler, Apple Daily, Hindu, Indian Express and more. She was previously the Founder & CEO of a cashback app with over 1million downloads in India backed by 500Startups, Vectr Ventures, Facebook’s FBStart programme as well as Cyberport’s Startup programme in Hong Kong. Yosha has spent 15 years in the FinTech sector and worked across Asia as a Financial Inclusion Consultant with CGAP and IFC World Bank Group. She was awarded ‘Most Influential Payments Professional’ by World BFSI Congress and Awards 2018, India.
